What are Nodules?
The formation of nodules develop over millions of years as metals precipitate from seawater and accumulate around a central core.

Naturally Rich in Critical Minerals
Polymetallic nodules are composed primarily of manganese and iron oxides, formed in thin layers around a small natural core over millions of years. Within these layers are valuable concentrations of nickel, copper, cobalt and manganese, along with smaller amounts of other critical and rare-earth elements. Their unique composition makes them a potentially important source of materials used in batteries, electric vehicles, renewable-energy systems, electronics and advanced manufacturing.
Critical Minerals Without Disturbing the Seafloor
Polymetallic nodules are naturally occurring, mineral-rich formations that rest loose on the deep-ocean floor. Unlike traditional deep-sea mining methods, Eco Minerals’ proprietary technology selectively collects these nodules without digging, drilling or dredging the seabed itself. This approach provides access to valuable metals—including nickel, cobalt, copper and manganese—while leaving the ocean floor undisturbed.

Nodules
Strategic Importance
Polymetallic nodules represent a potentially important source of the critical metals needed for batteries, renewable-energy systems, electronics, aerospace and advanced manufacturing. Because global supplies of nickel, cobalt, copper and manganese are concentrated in a limited number of regions, responsible nodule recovery could help diversify supply chains, reduce dependence on foreign sources and support long-term economic and energy security.
